From your PTA President:

On behalf of the Chabot Elementary School PTA, I want to welcome all of the new and returning families to Chabot! We are looking forward to a great year ahead and are excited to see everyone during the next few weeks.

As a kickoff to the year, please join us for our “Welcome Coffee” the first day of school, Monday August 31st at the main entrance to the school between the Main Building and the new Library (old auditorium). After you drop your children off at their new classrooms, come by to meet other Chabot families or reconnect with friends while you enjoy a hot or cold drink and breakfast snacks.

This year we are also beginning a new tradition of “First Friday” coffees which will take place on the first Friday of each month. If you can’t make it to the coffee on the first day of school, plan to stop by for the September “First Friday Coffee” on Friday, September 4th.

As many of you already know, Chabot is under construction. The multi-purpose building is newly completed and is a fantastic addition to our campus. Our new library and media center are also ready for school. Work continues on the new K-2 building as well as on surrounding areas on campus. We have another year of construction to go and we encourage parents to stay informed via our monthly newsletters and weekly broadcast. I highly encourage all families to subscribe to the Weekly Chabot Broadcast by visiting www.chabotelementary.org/content1/news/broadcast.html. • Monday, August 31st – Welcome Coffee after drop-off
• Friday, September 4th – First Friday Coffee 8:00am – 9:00am
• Friday, September 4th – First Friday Coffee 8:00am – 9:00am
• Monday, September 7th – Labor Day Clean-Up 9:00am – 12:00pm
• Wednesday, September 23rd – Back to School Night
• Tuesday, September 29th – 1st PTA Meeting and Bobcat Night!!!!

The Chabot PTA is a very active organization made up of engaged parents/guardians, teachers, and of course our own Principal Mayer.

Please plan to attend our first PTA Meeting and “Bobcat Night” on Tuesday, September 29th at 6:30pm. Following a quick PTA meeting to cover business items, we’ll have a PTA “open house” where you can learn more about the PTA and the committees and activities that contribute to making Chabot a great school. This is THE PTA event to attend in September! We will provide dinner and free childcare with fun activities.

Come and learn more about our goals for the year, the role the PTA plays in empowering and supporting its members in advocating for children, and how you can participate to make a difference in your child’s education at Chabot. REMEMBER – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th AT 6:30PM!!!

Membership in the Chabot PTA is a critical way for you to have a voice in the issues and decisions affecting your child’s education. Our membership drive kicks off during the first week of school, and our goal is 100% membership from our families! (It’s only 5$!) In addition to joining the PTA, we encourage you to donate to our Annual Fund and Way To Grow campaigns. Please keep an eye out for a membership and annual fund information packet which will be sent home soon.
