| Third Grade
Teachers: Brennan Agajan, Miranda Carrow, Linda Lee, Nancy Wilson

We designed life-sized “perfect third-graders” and talked about what characteristics we like in people.
We went on field trips to the SF Museum of Modern Art, the Chabot Space and Science Center, and the Oakland Zoo School.
We’re designing robots that can help make life better for people and communities, and we’re going to build models of them.
We’re studying chess as part of our math curriculum, and we saw the film “Searching for Bobby Fischer.”
We read stories and do art projects and skits based on their themes.
We’ve talked about our ancestors, researching their stories and sharing how we got our names.
We study a lot of spelling and punctuation. We’ve practiced by writing dialogues and persuasive presentations for strange products we made up ourselves.
We studied parts of speech by playing Apples to Apples.
We’ve studied animals close up: snakes, lizards, rabbits, caterpillars and butterflies. We even saw a cow’s brain (and some of us touched it!) We researched all kinds of animals and created projects and written reports about them.
Class Bunnies Clovis and Sierra got married on Valentine’s Day! We made the reception party.
We created board games and a Treasure Hunt for the class.
It’s a Mystery: we learned about disguises and we each had to come in a disguise for the class to try to guess.
PE is Country dancing enjoyed by all!
We wrote stories about "My Pet Rock."
Kids’ quotes:
“I think my class is cool because there’s a lot of different kinds of kids and different personalities.”
“This class is cool because we have a funny teacher. We can work together.”
“I think our class is special because we do new things and fun things.”
