Our children live in an increasingly inter-connected world and studies indicate learning a foreign language during the elementary years provides significant benefits, including improved overall school performance and superior problem- solving skills.

The Kindergarten classes receive Spanish classes five days a week throughout the school year that are funded by the PTA. The K students sing and learn with Lina del Roble. The Spanish Committee also oversees Spanish language classes that are made available to all grades before and after school. Lina and other qualified Viva el Espanol teachers staff these classes. Scholarships are available, so take advantage of this unique opportunity to expose your child to another language right at Chabot. We strive to become a resource for Latino families at Chabot and hope to provide cultural events that celebrate Latin America's diversity.

We always need more members on the Spanish Committee and speaking Spanish is not mandatory. Come join us! For more information, contact Ingrid Aguirre Happoldt, iahappoldt@gmail.com.

Information about before-school Spanish immersion classes is available here.
