Library

Funded by the PTA, Chabot’s library is a thriving center for student learning, with a collection of approximately 8,500 books for both research and free reading and a small collection of videos, books-on-tape and magazines. The library is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and each class at Chabot visits the library once a week throughout the year.

Our Librarians Kathleen McNulty and Jenny Ettinger provide storytimes and library skills instruction to all students, and help students choose materials for assignments and recreational reading. Parent volunteers provide much-needed support by shelving, covering and repairing books and helping with class visits.

In Summer 2003, we added an online catalog, completing the library automation project begun in 2001. The library is now equipped with four computer catalogs as well as Internet access . Electronic databases may become available during the 2003/04 schoolyear.

You can help support Chabot’s library by volunteering or by donating to the Friends of the Chabot Library fund.
