We wrote this class story: We went to the Oakland Zoo School. We learned about Animal Care. Animals need space to run and toys to play with. They need food and water to live and sometimes they need a vet. Animals need friends to take care of them and to play with them so they don’t get bored. All animals need shelter. They need love. Animals have lots of needs.
We read together and on our own. We read out loud to our families.
We studied insects. We had mealworms in containers on our desks and we recorded our observations. They hide in their food!
We make presentations at Sharing Time each week.
We took field trips to the Adventure Playground, the Chabot Space and Science Center, Stagebridge Performance, and the Oakland Museum.
We have a Superstar Person of the Week each week.
