Art is an important part of the Chabot curriculum. Students attend art classes during the school day, and the PTA also sponsors art classes through the after-school enrichment program. Art classes for our first and second grade students were started in September 2002. Our third through fifth grade art classes began in January 2003. Curriculum art classes are sponsored by the PTA and organized by the Chabot Art Committee.

We welcome our new Art Specialist - Jeanette de Rosa - to Chabot, beginning in August 2005. Ms. de Rosa received her BFA from Cooper Union, NYC and her Masters at the Rhode Island School of Design. She has extensive experience teaching art in urban public schools, and will bring her experience, knowledge and passion for art to our Chabot students.

After-school art programs over the course of the year include drawing and painting, multicultural art, and mixed media art. Chabot families are encouraged to present ideas for after-school art classes and to volunteer for the Art Committee.
